    Music of the Infinite 2nd September - 2nd October   
Discovered by the New York art scene and now a worldwide art phenomenon, child prodigy Aelita Andre will unveil her new exhibition "Music of the Infinite"at the prestigious and internationally renowned The Russian Academy of Fine Arts Museum in St Petersburg, Russia­ the first time in history a child has a museum solo show anywhere in the world.
    Pavel Pepperstein "Hunters for marble heads. Archeology of future" 28th of February - 20th of March   
In January 2016 the Museum of the Fine Arts Academy, the Department of casts, opened an exhibition “Hunters for the marble heads (archeology of future)”of the artist PavelPeppershtein. These graphic works were created specially for the casts exposition which has a unique architectural layout of few halls organized in a circle. About thirty PavelPepperstein’s worksare located in all 33 halls of the circular space in the visual vicinity toAntic casts. The environment in which the artist’s works were integrated served as inspiration. The author created a new futuristic mythology, reflecting on the idea of artifacts and their meanings.
    Exhibition of student works of the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture during the summer practice of 2015 27th of January - 28th of February   
‘Summer art-practice’ is the annual exhibition of the works made by the students of the Saint-Petersburg Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin during the summer time. The exhibition is taking place in the halls of the Art Academy Museum. The highlights are works by the students of the Ilya Repin Institute as well as works by the students of the Ioganson Art Lyceum.

Since the 27th of December, 2015, the memorial museum of Pavel Chistyakov has been hosting an exhibition of paintings and graphic works by Olga Vinogradova.
    Italian landscapes: an exhibition of works by the artists Oksana Arkhipova, Sergey and Svetlana Kurbatsky at the memorial museum of I. Brodsky 23rd of December, 2015 - 3rd of January   
Since the 23rd of December, 2015, the memorial museum of Issak Brodsky has been hosting an exhibition featuring works by three artists: Oksana Arkhipova, Sergey Kurbatsky and Svetlana Kurbatskaya. The artists graduated from the St. Petersburg Art Academy. In Italy, where they actually met each other, they worked as an art residents.
    Academic paintings after staged study compositions 14th of December, 2015 - 10th of January, 2016   
Since the 14th of December, 2015, the Titian hall has been hosting an exhibition featuring works by the students of the Painting department of the Repin’s Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. All the works exhibited are now a significant part of the Art Academy’s museum collection and of the methodological department. The exhibition demonstrates traditions of the Russian school of painting and drawing by displaying the best works by its students and their teachers.
    ‘The third eye’: an exhibition of art works by Darya Kollegova, Mstislav Pavlov and Rustam Igamberdiev 16th - 20th December   
From the 16th of December until the 20th, December, the Research Museum of the Art Academy will be hosting an exhibition titled ‘The Third eye’. The exhibition will display paintings by Darya Kollegova and Mstislav Pavlov as well as few sculptures by Rustam Igamberdiev.

From the 25th of November the Memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky is hosting an exhibition dedicated to the artist Isaak Brodsky, yet as an art collector. The collection of Isaak Brodsky represents vividly the time period which the artist lived through: the core of the collection are works of Brodsky’s contemporaries.
    Contemporary St. Petersburg Art: Paintings. 27th of November - 17th of January   
The exhibition is a part of the project run by the Northwestern branch of the State center for Contemporary Art and featuring St. Petersburg contemporary art work. The exhibition displays art pieces by the contemporary artists, and alumni and teachers of the St. Petersburg Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
    Elena Eryomina. An exhibition of watercolors and batik works at the memorial museum of Pavel Chistyakov 18th of November - 20th of December   
From the 18th of November, 2015, the memorial museum of Pavel Chistyakov is hosting an exhibition featuring works by a Petersburg female artist Elena Eryomina. The exhibition displays elaborate, elegant watercolors. The watercolor technique is considered to be one of the most difficult, yet it allows an artist to convey the most delicate changes of color tones and the lighting.
    Portraits from the ‘Album of Natalia Nordman-Severova’    
The memorial museum is hosting an exhibition of digital images of portraits created by Ilya Repin during 1906 and 1916 at his manor ‘Penates’. These 24 portraits were kept by Natalia Nordman-Severova (1863-1914) and the artist himself as an ‘album’ that nowadays does not exist as a solid piece: many portraits are now located in different museum and private collections.
    An immense world of still life. An exhibition of works by Sergey Griva at the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky 11 - 22 of November   
Since the 11 of November, 2015 the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky has been hosting an exhibition featuring works by Sergey Griva. The artist graduated from the College named after V. A. Serov in 1984 and later, in 1990 - the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. Repin. Sergey Griva is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia (1992) and a representative of their Department of Art Restoration (2008).
    Han Yuchen. Paintings by a Chinese artist at the Research Museum of the Russian Art Academy 6th - 22nd of November   
From the 6th of November, 2015, the Research Museum of the Russian Art Academy is hosting an exhibition featuring works by a Chinese artist Han Yuchen. Born in 1954, Han Yuchen has loved calligraphy and painting from his earliest years, thanks to the guidance and influence of his family. In the 1970s, he began to learn about painting with Li Hua, Su Gaoli and Liang Yulong of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, as well as with the prominent artist Zhang Wenxin. Many of his paintings, calligraphy and photos have been selected for exhibitions across China. In recent years, his oil paintings inspired by Tibet have been widely acclaimed in artistic circles because of their authentic and vivid representation of Tibetan life.
    Demeter’s gifts. An exhibition of works by Irina Kasperskaya 30th of October - 31th of November   
The exhibition displays works positioned by the artist as a part of a greater universal festival, which celebrates this year’s harnesses and the soil fertility in general. The exhibition is also a symbolical reminder of a proverb ‘as you sow, so shall you reap.’ In this context an artist gives intelligent, kind, and timeless virtues interpreted through creative mind and perception of colors, light, and the surrounding world.
    Vladimir Yershov. Paintings 28th of October - 1st of November   
From the 28th of October, 2015 the Memorial Museum of Isaak Brodsky is hosting an exhibition featuring works by Vladimir Yershov. The artist was born in 1964. He acquired professional artistic education at the Academy of Fine Arts in the studios of Boris Ugarov and Victor Reichet. Vladimir Yershov is a member of the Russian Union of Artists (since 1993).
     ‘Polonaise’ An exhibition of works by Irina Denischik at the memorial museum of I.Brodsky until the 25th of October   
Irina’s works are always bright, festive, and full of sun. The exhibition features the latest works by the Belorussian artist. This is what the artist noted concerning the exhibition ‘We all live in one world; however it is different for each person… I am inspired by surroundings, by the holistic character of our world which gives so many impressions that it is important to reserve them in paintings of mine.

From the 14, October the memorial museum of Pavel Chistyakov has been hosting an exhibition of graphics by Elena Morenova. Elena Morenova was born in 1959, in Leningrad. Her first art education the artist obtained in an Art School ¹8 located in the Nevsky administrative area.

From the 7 of October the Raphael Hall of the Art Academy’s Research Museum will host an exhibition of works by Ivan Godlevsky, a graduate of the Art Academy and a favorite student of a professor and an artist A.A. Osmerkin. The exhibition is curated by Vladimir Kaplunov, an expert in the art of 20th century.
    An exhibition “Russian Paris” 7 - 25 of October   
From the 7 of October the Titian Hall of the Art Academy’s Research Museum will host an exhibition “The Russian Paris” curated by Vladimir Kaplunov, an expert in the art of 20th century. The exhibition will display art pieces by the artists who, due to the historical circumstances, emigrated and found themselves creating art in Paris.
    A Solo-exhibition of paintings by Luminitsa Taburtsa until the 20th of September,   
The artist was born in Moldavia; however, she works and lives in Saint-Petersburg. Her works, thus, demonstrate rich palette together with a moderation in forms. The paintings by the artist possess that warm feeling of the Southern sun that rainy St. Petersburg misses. For example, the work “White Still-life” could remind us a matte wall mural and a play of the sun light in a mosaic at once. This unique approach of using colors and the light is what art critics usually point out when writing about Luminitsa Taburtsa’s oeuvre.

The exhibition of works by Isaak Brodsky displays quite a vast array of the artist’s oeuvre: from his very early works up to his renowned masterpieces in Soviet realism style. Already the early art pieces by Isaak Brodsky, which are rarely exhibited, carry a sign of a significant artistic talent. The majority of works shown at the exhibition are portraits of the artist’s relatives and close friends. Among them there are portraits of his sister, P.I. Brodskaya (1906), of his wife, T.P. Myasoedova-Brodskaya (1922), and of one of his relatives, O. P. Myasoedova (1921).
    Vyacheslav Berechinsky. An exhibition of paintings by the artist at the Isaak Brodsky Memorial museum 12th - 30th of August   
From the 12th of August, 2015, the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky is hosting the exhibition featuring works, mainly portraits created in 2014-2015, by Vyacheslav Berechinsky. Vyacheslav Berechinsky is a renowned artist, musician, curator and art restorer. The origin of his oeuvre goes back to 1980s, when art used to emerge through discussions and meetings in flats (so-called “kvartirnik”, an artistic party in a flat). These meetings are now symbols of the non-official art life of that period when conceptual art finally penetrated in ordinary living. In other words, this art was rebellious in its very nature.

From the 6th of August, 2015, the memorial museum of Ilya Repin, “Penates”, is hosting an exhibition featuring works by a renowned Finnish artist, architect, thinker and writer Aleksanteri Ahola-Valo. The exhibition commemorates the 115 years anniversary since the artist’s birth and is held with a great support by the Ministry of Education of Finland, the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the Fund of Ahola-Valo “Elpo”.
    Valentin Serov. Art works by the artist from the art collection of Isaak Brodsky 22 of July - 9 of August   
From the 22 of July, 2015, the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky has been hosting an exhibition of works by one of the most renowned Russian artist Valentin Serov. The exhibition commemorates the 150th anniversary of the artist’s birth and displays paintings, watercolors and drawings by the artist. Works by Valentin Serov from the collection of Isaak Brodsky have always been a part of many significant exhibitions of Russian art worldwide. This project, however, shows all 24 art works from this collection all together at once.
    The world of bright colors. Art works by Vladimir Kovtun in the memorial museum of P. Chistyakov 26, July - 30, August   
From the 26, July the memorial museum of P. Chistyakov has been hosting a solo exhibition featuring works by Vladimir Kovtun. Vladimir Kovtun is a renowned physician, artist and writer of Russia. He was born in 1948 in Armenia in a family of a military man. Later Vladimir graduated from the department of physics of the Armenian State University in Tbilisi.
    Exhibition of famous american artists works Shane Guffog August 8 - September 27

    Four generations of the Shibnevs family of artists. An exhibition at the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky until the 19th of July   
The exhibition displays works created since 1898 till today by the artists of the Shibnevs family. Major part of the works is from a family’s collection. Damian Shibnev, a graduate of the Art Academy and a student of Ilya Repin and Pavel Chistyakov, is a progenitor of the Shibnevs dynasty of artists. The artist happened to live in Mariupol, Ukraine. The nearby sea and southern nature can be considered as first art teachers for Damian, who later used to paint impressionistic landscapes, for the most part.
    Sergey Prosvetov. Painting and graphics by the artist at the memorial museum of P.P.Chistyakov 14th of June - 15th of July   
Until the 15th of July, 2015 the memorial museum of Pavel Chistyakov is hosting an exhibition of works by Sergey Prosvetov. The exhibition displays paintings and graphic works created by the artist at different periods. The highlights are pieces featuring traditional Russia’s landscapes and different city views.
     Yury Stolyarov. Art works by the artist at the memorial museum of A. Kuindji 12th of June - 31st of July   
Until the 31st of July, 2015 the memorial museum of Arkhip Kuindji is hosting an exhibition featuring works by a renowned Petersburg’s artist Yury Stolyarov. Among the highlights of the exposition one will find Crimean and Karelian landscapes, views of the old Russian architecture and “portraits” of domestic pets. The artist works in such techniques as pastel and tempera and he also experiments in etching and lithography, for instance, the series of works “Cats”, “Fish” and “Constellations”.
     “Shiny colors of the world”. An exhibition of works by Aleksandr Alir 24th of June - 5yh of July   
Aleksandr Alir is an artist, a poet, a music composer, a publisher and a director of the children’s publishing organization “Samovar” (Moscow). He does not only create on his own but also gather artistic people in different art projects. Because of his bright and cheerful personality many people refer to the artist as a versatile humanist and an “orchestra-man”.
    Exhibition of diploma works by graduating students of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin 3rd - 26th of July   
The halls of the Russian Academy of Fine Arts Museum will host a traditional annual exhibition of thesis works by students graduating from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin. The grand opening will take place on July 3, 2015. This final exhibition definitely generates active interest among the visitors to the museum. This is not an accident, since what is interesting to our young painters, sculptors and sketch artists, what draws their attention and what is left beyond their artistic interests and ambitions can in great deal define the current state and future development of our pictorial art.
    Aleksey Arkhipov. Sculpture compositions 27th of May - 7th of June   
From the 27th of May, 2015 the Memorial Museum of Isaak Brodsky has been hosting an exhibition featuring works by a sculptor Aleksey Arkhipov.Aleksey Arkhipov is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, a holder of a special UNESCO medal of achievements in sculpture, an author of numerous sculptures in many Russian cities (i.g. monuments of Feodosy and Afanasy, the monks and founders of Cherepovets city (1992), of D. N. Mamleev in Cherepovets (1998), and a monument of an academician S. I. Vavilov in Sosnoviy bor, 2002). In 2003 the sculptor won the first prize at the “Our saints and heavenly patrons” competition of sculptures for the Peter and Paul fortress in Saint-Petersburg. The sculptor has been nominated in a number of art contests in Russia and abroad.
     Ilya Repin’s progenies: an exhibition of artwork by the students of Ilya Repin at the Memorial Museum “Penates” 5th of June - 2nd of August   
From the 5th of June, 2015 the Memorial Museum of Ilya Repin has been hosting an exhibition featuring Repin progenies’ paintings and graphics from the collection of Petersburg’s art gallery KGallery.
    Timur Novikov: Contemporary artwork among the casts of classical sculpture 4th of June - 27th of September   
From the 4th of June, 2015 the Art Academy Museum, the department of casts, is hosting an exhibition featuring works by Timur Novikov (1958-2002): a cult figure of the Leningrad/Petersburg’s unofficial art of the 1980-1990s. The artist is considered one of the most influential figures in Nonconformist Art before and after the fall of the Iron Curtain in Russia. The exposition displays world famous works created during artist’s neoacademic period: textile collages of 1990s. The highlight of the exhibition is the first textile collage “Apollo trampling on the red square”. The exposition takes place in the department of casts which has a unique architectural layout of few halls organized in a circle. Visitors will find plaster casts of the eminent but lost antique sculptures displayed together with Timur Novikov’s textile collages which enclose images of classical original sculptures.
    Bestiary and herbarium in space and time – an exhibition of works by Irina Kasperskaya at the Isaak Brodsky museum from the 13th till the 24th of May

    A stroll beyond the horizon. An exhibition of works by Anton Leuhin 6th of May - 6th of June   
Since the 6th of May, 2015 the memorial museum of Pavel Chistyakov has been hosting an exhibition “A stroll beyond the horizon” featuring works by the Petersburg artist Anton Leuhin. Artistic personality of the artist revealed itself when Anton was a student at the Petersburg’s College of Art and Design already named after A. L. Shtiglits (which is informally called “Muha” as during the Soviet times it used to be named after Vera Muhina, famous soviet sculptor).
    “Linie, Line, Ëèíèÿ: contemporary drawing” 24th of April - 24th of May   
From the 24th of April, 2015 the Raphael hall of the Russian Art Academy museum will host an opening of the exhibition “Linie, Line, Ëèíèÿ: contemporary drawing”. The exhibition will display works by twenty graphic artists who live and work in Germany. Thus the exhibition can be considered an attempt to represent current movements in art of drawing in Germany. Since ancient times drawing has been closely connected with cultural, historical and religious symbols of each epoch. Today drawing plays a keen role in contemporary art.
    Memories of Moldova. Spring. An exhibition within the framework of a project “Moldovian artists of Saint-Petersburg” 24th of April - 12th of May   
From the 24th of April, 2015 the Blue hall of the Russian Art Academy museum will host an opening of the exhibition “Memories of Moldova. Spring”. The project takes place in Saint-Petersburg for the fourth time: twice it was hosted by the Art Academy.
    Great art in small format. An exhibition at the memorial museum of I. I. Brodsky 15th of April - 10th of May   
Since the 15th of April, 2015 the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky has been hosting an exhibition “Great art in small format”. Great art, a masterpiece: these words are commonly used to describe truly remarkable art. These words also make us think of a marvelous art work as something as large in size as it is valuable. However, if you happen to examine old masterpieces you will know that the term great art, as a rule, refers to the very essence of a picture and not necessarily to its original size.
    The unknown collections of the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts 22nd of April - 31st of May   
From the 22nd of April, 2015 the Titian hall of the Art Academy’s Research museum will host an exhibition “The unknown collections of the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts”. The highlights of the exhibition are paintings, sculptures and graphic works from the Imperial Art Academy collections which remained unknown to public and connoisseurs.

He acquired professional artistic education at the Academy of Fine Arts in the studios of Boris Ugarov and Victor Reichet. Vladimir Yershov is a member of the Russian Union of Artists (since 1993). His solo exhibitions were held in Russia and abroad and his works can be found in many museums and private collections.
    “Spring” An exhibition of art works by Natalia Guschina 15th of March - 15th of April   
From the 15th of March, 2015 the memorial museum of Pavel Chistyakov will host an exhibition featuring works by the young artist Natalia Guschina. The exhibition will mainly display landscapes and city views of the artist’s native city Petersburg. However, there also will be shown still-life works and portraits. All exhibited art pieces were created in different forms of graphics: from watercolors to prints.
    An image of a woman through art. An exhibition of works by the Russian artists from the early 20th century in the memorial museum of I.I. Brodsky until the 29th of March, 2015   
The exhibition marks the grand celebration of spring as well as it is dedicated to nice, kind, generous and beautiful women. It displays 40 drawings and watercolors from the collection of the artist Isaak Brodsky (1884-1939). Isaak Brodsky was a talented student of the celebrated Russian artist Ilya Repin. He finished the Saint-Petersburg Art Academy (1902-1907) and soon became one of the most popular painters in Russia.
    Polenova Maria Alekseevna (1816-1895): an exhibition of copies taken from drawings by the artist the 25th of February - the 15th of April, 2015   
Since the 25th of February, 2015 the memorial museum of Ilya Repin “Penates” has been hosting an exhibition dedicated to the oeuvre of Maria Polenova, a female artist from the first half of the 19th century and a mother of two outstanding artists: Vasily Polenov (1844-1927) and Elena Polenova (1850-1898). Displayed works are from the collection of the State memorial museum of Vasily Polenov.
    Female models through art by the Russian artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. An exhibition of works from the collection of the Research Museum of the Russian Art Academy from the 6th of March until the 12th of April, 2015   
The exhibition “Female models though art by the Russian artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries” is based on twenty three paintings displayed chronologically. It begins with the Female’s Portrait (Venetian maid), created by the artist I.A. Vrachev in 1889. However, the majority of the exhibited paintings were made between 1894 and 1917 by the Art Academy College’s students whose teacher was an outstanding Russian artist D.N. Kardovsky.
    Embroidery: traditional and modern. An exhibition at the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky 15th of February - the 1st of March   
Since the 15th of February, 2015 the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky has been hosting an exhibition “Embroidery: tradition and modernity”. The exhibition shows results of a seven-year work from the art center “Nevsky mosaics” and, in particular, from a technology and design course. The course hosts people of different ages and professions; what unites them is their great passion for art and creativity. Every person attending this course could learn the ropes of such needle works as embroidery, sewing, knitting and painting.

The exhibition features paintings and sculptures created by the artists of the union SNOP (such as Evgeny Gruzdev, Anatoly Danilov, Viktov Egorov, Matvey Makushkin, Vladimir Presnyakov, Sergey Sergeev, Vasily Smirnov, Elena Filippova and Igor Frolov).

From the 21st of January, 2015 the memorial museum of I. Brodsky has been hosting an exhibition “From a private collection” which features works by the young Belorussian artists Tatyana and Valery Potvorov. The exhibition is mainly formed from the artist’s favorite and recently created art pieces that have never been displayed before. These paintings are notable for its cheerful and sincere views on life and positive energy.
    “Farewell to the past”. An exhibition of works by Mikhail Filimonenko in the memorial museum of P. Chistyakov from the 10th of January until the 10th of February   
From the 10th of January, 2015, the memorial museum of Pavel Chistyakov has been hosting a solo exhibition of art works by Mikhail Filimonenko. The artist attended the studios of such artists as Y.Nashivochkov, Igor Churilov and Konstantin Ilyashevsky. Since 1987 he has been working mainly with painting and graphic techniques: pastel, gouache, color inks and watercolor. In his oeuvre the artist combines the spontaneous and child-like approach to color palette with a hard analytic work.
     After the War. 1945-1956 December, 2014 - 22nd of March, 2015   
Since December, 2014, the Research Museum of the Art Academy has been hosting an exhibition which features art works created by the young artists during the postwar decade. The exhibition is unique: it offers visitors to not only familiarize themselves with the art pierces but also, in a way, to immerse themselves into the atmosphere of that period. One may think of the Soviet era already by entering the second floor: the “trees lounge” with the Art Temple’s Doric columns rising high above the Museum’s halls. In order to imitate the size of a “common Soviet flat” and to reflect more precisely the modest conditions of living and art creating of the severe postwar period the Academy’s extremely spacious and beautiful exhibition halls in Saint-Petersburg have now been “shrunk”. In some halls immortal faces from the Antique and Renaissance art works are visible through the slits-“embrasures”. They are still examples of fine art and an eternal appeal for perfection.
    Larisa Logyn. Paintgins 10th-21st of December   
Since the 10th of December, 2014 the Isaak Brodsky memorial museum has been hosting an exhibition featuring works by Larisa Logyn. The artist was born in Uzbekistan, in 1996 she graduated from the Yenisei Pedagogicalñollege, department of graphics.
    Exhibition of works by the National artist of the USSR Alexey Gritsai in the Art Academy museum halls 5th of December, 2014 - 18th of January, 2015   
Since the 5th of December, 2014 the Blue hall of the Art Academy museum has been hosting an exhibition featuring works by the artist A. Gritsai. The artist was born in Petersburg. He graduated from the Art Academy, studios of the famous Soviet artists such as V. Yakovlev and I. Brodsky. Since the 22nd of June, 1941 the artist had fought in the Great Patriotic War fronts. Ever since A. Gritsai returned he dedicated his life to art. Amongst various art genres landscape became one of his favorites.
    A solo exhibition of graphics by Oksana Eremeeva in the I.Brodsky memorial museum 26th of November - 7th of December   
Since the 26th of November, 2014, the memorial museum of I.I.Brodsky has been hosting a solo exhibition, featuring works by Olga Eremeeva. Oksana developed her artistic personality under the influence of the artist and the Art Academy professor Dina Volkova. Oksana’s apprenticeship lasted four years (2003-2007) in which she studied courses to retrain art teachers.
    “Pushkiniana” by Alexander Bourganov. An exhibition of graphic works dedicated to Alexander Pushkin 12th-23rd of November   
The “House A. Bourganov” Museum together with the Isaak Brodsky Memorial Museum is presenting an exhibition of works by Alexander Bourganov. The main theme of the displayed works is the most outstanding Russian writer Alexander Pushkin. Many artists have portrayed the Russian writer Alexander Pushkin; because of this, the pictorial “Pushkiniana” was then created. Alexander Bourganov contributed to this phenomenon when he exhibited several unique graphics.

From the 12th of November, 2014 the Blue hall of the Academy of Fine Arts museum will host an exhibition featuring art pierces from the collections of the museum itself and from the Scientific Library of the Art Academy.
    Alexander Bourganov. Exhibition of graphic works in the ILya Repin memorial museum “Penates” till 15th of November    
Alexander Bourganov is the National Artist of Russia, the Full Member of the Russian Academy of Fine Arts, State Prize winner of the USSR. The artist was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, in 1935; graduated from the Moscow State Artistic and Industrial College (historically known as the Stroganov’s Art College) where he at present teaches. In 2001 the Bourganov’s state museum was established in Moscow. His works can be found in many state and private collections in Russia and abroad.
    Exhibition of works made by the students of the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture during the summer practice of 2014 30th of October - 16th of November

On the 22nd of October, 2014 the Blue hall of the Art Academy Museum will host an exhibition “East – West”. The exhibition raises such issues as: how the East is seen by the artists of Western culture and how the West is perceived by the artists with an Eastern genetic origin. The exhibition, featuring works by the painter Daria Kollegova and the sculptor Rustam Igamberdiev, is a representation of two worlds.
    Vladimir Ershov. Paintings 22nd-26th of October   
On the 22nd of October, 2014 the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky will host an opening of the exhibition featuring works by Vladimir Ershov. The artist was born in Leningrad in 1964. He was a student of the Art Academy College and later, since 1987, he studied in the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.Repin, studios of Boris Ugarov and Victor Reichet.
    En plein air. Exhibition of works by Larisa Akhmadeeva 29th of October - 9th of November   
On the 29th of October, 2014 the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky will host an opening of the exhibition featuring works by Larisa Akhmadeeva. The displayed works are landscapes created during trips to Greece, Italy and Czech Republic. In Greece, for example, were created such works as “Museum-castle Nafplio” (2014), “Methoni” (2013) or “Acrocorinth” (2012).
    Exhibition of works by Julia Gothgelph at the museum of Pavel Chistyakov from the 19th of October until the 9th of November   
Julia Gothgelph is a member of the Workers of Culture Union, a specialist in applied arts and a painter. She was born in Leningrad in 1958. In 1982 Julia graduated from the Leningrad’s Art College named after V. Serov (currently named after N. Roerich).
    Exhibition featuring works by Chinese artists 16th-26th of October   
From the 16th of October, 2014 the grand halls of the Art Academy museum will host an exhibition of works created by Chinese artists: Sui Un and Lee Chen. Sui Un is a Chinese artist passionate about the lives of the people from his nation. The artist can be considered a painter of realism; he tends to show suffering, struggles and resistance by the Chinese people through the medium of art.
    “The Puzzle of Space” Exhibition of works by Valentin Samarin and Irina Ryabova 15th - 19th of October   
Personality and artistic style of the artist Irina Ryabova were both formed during the rebel 1990s in the atmosphere of the Post-Soviet Underground art. She took part in many exhibitions and events like projects from the LEM theater or SKIF festival. The main technique of the exhibited works is tachism (derived from the French word tache, stain). One can say that her works are full of bright colors, the compositions have no limits and the brush strokes are vivid and energetic.
     The Harmony of Moments. Paintings by Oktay Alirzaev 17th -28th of September   
On the 17th of September, 2014 the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky will host the grand opening of the exhibition “The Harmony of Moments” featuring paintings by Oktay Alirzaev. The artist was born in 1961 in Dagestan, graduated from the department of Graphics from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.Repin (1991-1997).

The Blue hall of the Russian Academy of Fine Arts Museum is hosting an exhibition that marks the 100-years anniversary of the First World War. It features paintings and graphic works created during 1915-1917 in the framework of the Trophy Committee by the Russian artists of that epoch such as G. S. Vereisky, P. D. Pokardzevsky, R.R. Frents, P. V. Miturich and P. I. Kotov.
    An exhibition of works by Nikas Safronov 2nd of August - 12th of October   
Nikas Safronov is one of the most prominent Russian contemporary painters and an Honored artist of the Russian Federation. The biggest part of his heritage is now kept in different state and private collections worldwide. Collectors from Western Europe, for example, bought around 800 art pieces by the artist. Amongst the owners of Nikas Safronov’s works there are such celebrities as Alla Pugacheva, Sophia Loren, Alain Delon, Pierre Cardin, Diana Ross, Madonna, Mikhail Gorbachev, Nikita Mikhalkov and many others. Nikas Safronov is also well known for the series of portraits of Russian presidents Dmitry Medvedev and Vladimir Putin and presidents and royals of foreign countries.

Since the 23rd of July, 2014 the Memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky has been hosting an exhibition “Beloved Russia” featuring latest works dedicated to the beloved motherland, Russia, by the painters Anatoly Annenkov and Sergey Volkov and the sculptor Pavel Shevchenko. All three exhibition participants graduated from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin and became members of the Russian Union of Artists.

From the 9th of July, 2014 the Memorial Museum of Isaak Brodsky is hosting an exhibition of works by Elena Potemkina-Fursenko. The artist was born in Yaroslavl. Since 2004 Elena Potemkina-Fursenko has been creating art pieces which are full of light, joy and bright colors. The exhibition displays landscapes of different seasons and flower still-lives.

    An exhibition of works by Surjit Akre at the Memorial Museum of Isaak Brodsky 25th of June - 6th of July, 2014    
Surjit Akre pursued her diploma in Commercial Arts from India and thereafter she moved to Russia with her parents in 1979. With much hard work she meritoriously achieved admission into the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in St. Petersburg. In 1986 she became the only artist to get a Post-Graduate Degree in Easel Painting from Russia.
    Valery Katsuba. 100 Years on. 26th of June - 6th of July   
100 Years On is a synthesis of art and culture, pairing photographs from the Academy's archives with new black and white and large-scale color photographs made by Mr. Katsuba. Looking at photographs taken more than 100 years ago, Mr. Mikhailovsky, who is the rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, and Mr. Katsuba found it fascinating to use those earlier works of photographers, students, and teachers as inspiration for a new series taken at the Academy showing the same classes a century later.
    Sergey Speransky. An exhibition commemorating a 100-years anniversary of the architect 7th - 29th of June   
From the 7th of June, 2014 to the 29th of June, 2014 the Titian hall of the Art Academy museum hosts an exhibition dedicated to the oeuvre of the Russian architect Sergey Speransky. Sergey Speransky (1914-1983) was one of the leading post-war architects of Leningrad. Among his creations hotel “Leningrad” (now “Saint-Petersburg”), the ensemble of the Victory square and the monument to the Heroic defenders of Leningrad are the first to be mentioned.

Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. However, it is more than simply putting flowers in a container. It is a disciplined art form in which the arrangement is a living thing where nature and humanity are brought together. It is steeped in the philosophy of developing a closeness with nature. The remarkably high development of floral art in Japan can be attributed to the Japanese love of nature. People in all countries appreciate natural beauty, but in Japan, the appreciation amounts almost to a religion.

The annual spring exhibition featuring works of the teachers of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin is taking place at 15.00 on April 18th, 2014 in the Gala halls. The tradition of conducting these types of exhibits begins in 1897 when the first exhibition was held in the halls of the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts. The exhibition introduced the painter’s new pieces of art to the public; especially of young artists, who did not belong to the academic circle. The works displayed there were of special artistic dignity and were not previously displayed in Saint Petersburg. The initiator of this exhibition was Arkhip Ivanovich Kuindzhi. In 1918 this tradition was broken and almost 80 years later, in April 1996 with efforts of teachers of the art department of Ilya Repin Institute, the tradition was restored.

Since the 19th of March, 2014 the Memorial Museum of Isaak Brodsky has been hosting an exhibition of works by Varvara Agabekova. The highlights of the exhibition are paintings in different genres: portraits, landscapes, still lives. The artist graduated cum laude from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin, the art studio of V.V. Zagoneck, in 2011. Since 2011 Varvara Agabekova has been teaching at the Art College named after Nicolay Roerich. The artist is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia (since 2012) and a member of different exhibitions (since 2006).
    “Patriarchal Russia and Soviet Russia in graphic works by Boris Kustodiev”. An exhibition in the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky 5th-16th of March   
From the 5th of March the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky has been hosting the exhibition commemorating the 136thanniversary since a prominent Russian artist Boris Kustodiev was born. The highlights of the exhibition are graphic works from the series “Russian types”. The main motif of it is a common image of old, provincial Russia or so called “merchant Russia”. The art series was created in 1920s and later, in 1923, it was accompanied with the texts by the Russian writer Eugeny Zamyatin.

The picture was created in 1840, when Taras Shevchenko studied at the Imperial Art Academy. The first time this exact work was mentioned in scientific research work was 1880. Back then, the artist F. P. Ponomarev, in his published memoirs, identified this work as the “Torso of St. Sebastian, taken from nature during the Art Academy’s life classes”. The new attribution of this work as a “Male model, posing as Marsyas” was suggested by N. V. Sadkova.
    “As a gift to the Taras Shevchenko’s art studio” 9th of March - 6th of April   
An exhibition commemorating the 200-anniversary since the great Ukrainian artist was born and 50th-anniversary since the memorial studio in the Art Academy was established. Taras Shevchenko was born on 9th of March 1814 in a family of serf peasants in the village of Moryntsi, Kiev region, in the Russian Empire. Soon he became an orphan. At the age of 14 he was directed to the manor house of a landlord Engelgard as a house serf. Back then he had already shown his painting talent. In 1831 Engelgard took him along to Saint-Petersburg where the future artist became a student at the painting studio of V. G. Shiryaev.
    Nikos Floros. “Homage to Greece: sculptures costumes. Tribute to Maria Callas and Grace Kelly” March 6 – April 6, 2014   
On the 7thMarch, 2014 the Russian Academy of Fine Arts Museum will host the major retrospective exhibition of the internationally recognized sculptor of Hellenic descent, Nikos Floros. The exhibition will take place under the auspices of the Municipality of the city of Tripolis, Greece. Exhibited in the Raphael Hall, the artist will present his unique sculptural costumes created using recycled aluminum. This original method was created and patented by Nikos Floros in 2003. During the period from September 2013 until March 2014 the exhibition has been hosted at the Tsaritsyno State Museum and Reserve in Moscow.

The exhibition displays auto portraits of Isaak Brodsky and his portraits made by other famous Russian painters such as B. Kustodiev, B. Belyashin, G. Vereisky, E. Kruglikova, L. Pasternak. Each artist presented the model, Isaak Brodsky, differently, and in different times of his life. To give a full picture of the prominent Russian artist portraits of Isaak Brodsky's family, e.i. his mother, wife, daughter and sisters, are also displayed at the exposition.

Since the 8th of January, 2014, the Isaak Brodsky museum has been hosting an exhibition of works by Vsevolod Mechkovsky: "The fixation of life is sometimes more important than life itself". According to his degree, Vsevolod Mechkovsky is an architect. He was born in 1945 in the family of a soldier. Then he studied in Novosibirsk. As an architect, he worked in Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and the city of Vladivostok in Russia. But only in the city of Saint Petersburg could his spirit truly express itself. Under the patronage of his grandmother he spent the first years of his childhood. Saint Petersburg's beautiful cityscapes became absorbed in his memory. For Mechkovsky, and, it may be said, for many other Russian and Soviet artists, having his own personal exhibition organized in Saint Petersburg has been the pinnacle of his achievements.

Since the 18th of January, 2014, the branch of the Art Academy Museum, e.g. the memorial museum of Pavel Chistyakov, has been hosting an exhibition featuring works by the famous Petersburg's artist Anatoliy Nachev. The artist was born in 1949 in the village of Akimovka in Ukraine. He graduated from the Crimea Art College in the city of Simferopol. In 1978 the artist received his degree from the Painting department of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. Repin. For a long time, apart from being a professional artist, Anatoliy Nachev had been teaching art in different art schools and colleges of Leningrad/Saint-Petersburg.

On the 23rd of January, 2014, the Art Academy’s halls will host an opening of the exhibition “Suspended animation”. The highlights of the exhibition are works by the Italian master Cristiano Pintaldi. The exhibition is organized by the publishing house “Il Cigno GG Edizioni” together with the Russian Art Academy Museum and is a part of a cultural program dedicated to the Year of Tourism between Russia and Italy.
    “13 Chosen”, exhibition of works by Simon Fleuri 23rd of December, 2013 - the 5th of January, 2014   
From the 23rd of December, 2013, the museum of Isaak Brodsky will host an exhibition “13 Chosen” featuring works by Simon Fleuri. The artist was born on the 23rd of February, 1972 in Russia. The artist had never graduated from any art school or university; he can be recognized as one of the self-made artists, who developed their natural talent thanks to being around an artistic atmosphere, reading books on art, and learning about art in different museums. During 2007 – 2012 he took private art lessons from the teachers of the Academy of Fine Arts.
     Exhibition of works by VIK “The Windows of a Labyrinth 6th of December, 2013 - 19th of January, 2014   
Since the 6th of December in the halls of the art academy an exhibition “The Windows of a Labyrinth” has been opened. The exhibition is featuring paintings and graphic works of one of the most interesting contemporary artists of the Petersburg's scene. His works are in collections of Sir Paul McCartney, Alla Osipenko, John Markovsky and others. Vik was one of the first artists whose works were part of the “Christie's” auction.
    Exhibition of works by Anton Ovsyannikov 11th - 22nd of December   
On the 11th of December, 2013 the museum of Isaac Brodsky will host an exhibition featuring works by Anton Ovsyannikov. In 2002 the artist finished as valedictorian in the faculty of Painting from the Saint-Petersburg's State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. Repin (painting studio of V.V. Pimenov). After having graduated the Institute the artist was sent to Florence to obtain the artistic practice of copying.
     “Parisian nuances” 11th - 22nd of December   
From the 11th of December, 2013 the Titian Hall of the Art Academy museum will host an exhibition featuring works by French artists: “Parisian nuances”. Thanks to the organization Art'et Miss Gallery, which was founded in 2003, we are able to experience this exhibition. Since 2004 the Gallery has created many exhibitions with other venues and abroad: in France, Ukraine, Italy, and Russia.
    Komarovo’s legend. An exhibition of works by Nicolay Kovalev 30th of November, 2013 - 15th of January, 2014   
On the 30th of November, 2013, the “Penates” museum will host the opening of the exhibition featuring works by Nicolay Kovalev, the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. The highlights of the exhibition are graphic works and paintings created in the 1950-1960s in Komarovo village. Filled with the “Finnish bay” air, these watercolors show us the unique atmosphere of Repino, Komarovo, Sestroretsk and other villages nearby the Karelian Isthmus during the 1950-1960s.
    Politecology. An exhibition of works by Andrey Pashkevich 27th of November - 8th of December   
On the 27th of November, 2013 the Museum of Isaac Brodsky will host an exhibition of works by Andrey Pashkevich. The highlight of the upcoming exhibition is a number of works named “Politecology”. In Saint-Petersburg these works will be displayed for the first time. Andrey Pashkevich (1945-2011) was a member of the Russian Union of Artists and a member of the International Federation of Artists (IFA). His father P. I. Pashkevich worked as an art director in the film studio named after M. Gorki, in Moscow. Andrey Pashkevich graduated from the All-Union Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) not only as a cameraman, but also took part in the art courses given by famous artist Yuri Pimenov.
    The Romanovs: imperial patrons of art. 30th of October - 8th of December   
The grand exhibition “The Romanovs: imperial patrons of art” will be opened in the halls of the Art Academy museum from the 30th of October until the 8th of December, 2013. It was organized by the research museum of the Academy of Fine Arts with support from the Committee of foreign affairs of Saint-Petersburg. The exhibition features few unique items. First of all, you will find the original charter of the Academy of Fine Arts signed by Catherine II. It was written on parchment and illuminated with watercolors drawings. The second most important exhibit is a set of preparatory drawings by Mihály Zichy for the coronation album of Alexander II. These drawings will be shown to the public for the first time. A number of restored monumental murals created by Giovanni Battista Scotti and Jacopo Ferarri are to become a prominent part of the exhibition. They were created for the Tauride Palace (Russian: Tavrichesky dvorets) under the direction of Luigi Rusca, the court architect of Alexander I. These three units have already made the exhibition “The Romanovs: royal patrons of art” a uniquely exceptional one.
    “By the northern waves…” 16th - 27th of October   
From the 16th of October, 2013 the museum-apartment of I.I. Brodsky has been hosting an exhibition “By the northern waves…” The exhibition features works of four young artists, graduates of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. Repin: Oksana Arkhipova, Tamara Kamaeva, Yulia Kostsova and Ludmila Scherbinina. At the exposition there are works mainly devoted to the theme of North: northern nature, life and history. These works were created during the open-air painting practice at the White Sea and the Solovetsky archipelago in 2011 and 2013.
    “Involvement” 19th of October - 17th of November    
“Involvement”, an exhibition organized in the bounds of the international art project “Palette of accords”. On the 19th of October, 2013 the museum-manor of Pavel Chistyakov will host an opening of the exhibition of graphic and painting works: “Involvement or implication”. The exhibition features famous art pieces by Timur Novikov, Valentin Afanasiev, Vladislav Afonichev, VIK, Sergey Sergeev, Nelli Gradova and others. These artists, known as protagonists of contemporary art, were on friendly terms with each other from youth age.     “Petersburg Submersion”. An exhibition of works by Svetlana Serebryakova at the I.I.Brodsky apartment-museum 2nd-13th of October   
The project “Submersion” raises a question about the influence of the city on its people. In this case the city is perceived as an artistic image embodied in architectural styles of different epochs. The author of the project, sculptor Svetlana Serebryakova, shows an unusual appearance of the megapolis by using typical visual images which correspond to particular architecture styles. Five female images personify five Petersburg's architectural themes: classical, orthodox, art nouveau, constructivism and contemporary. The author made an attempt to find specific features of the city in its citizens, to find an “imprint” of the city on its people.
    “The Power of Love”. Exhibition dedicated to the international Day of Music 20th of September - 11th of October   
From the 20th of September, 2013 the Blue Hall of the Art Academy museum has been hosting an exhibition dedicated to the international Day of Music. This exhibition features works by D.I. Volkova and B. V. Lushnikova, both masters of theater sets. Boris Lushnikov graduated from the studio of M. M. Kurilko-Rumin at the Moscow Institute named after V. I. Surikov. Apart from painting he has devoted his life to teaching arts.

The exhibition “The Academic Architectural School of Saint-Petersburg” will open in the grand halls of the Art Academy Museum, where a prominent exhibition took place 100 years ago: “Russian architecture and industrial design”. Back then the society of artists and architects showed projects made also by the academy students during the 18th and 19th centuries. The exhibition was a great success.

Until recently Angel Orensanz has been known for his extravagant landscape and urban installations done in Japan, Russia, USA, Western Europe and other countries. This exhibit in St. Petersburg is very innovative in his intensive creativity. For the very first time the artist will present his photo-art. Why in Saint Petersburg? As Angel Orensanz admits himself his artistic development has been greatly influenced by such giants of Russian Avant-garde as Kazimir Malevich, Vladimir Tatlin and others. All of them lived in Saint Petersburg.
    Exhibition of Anush Sarkissian “China: Parallels and Diversities” at the Isaak Brodsky Apartment Museum from September 4 till September 29, 2013   
Anush Sarkissian is an Armenian born in Iran. She has lived and worked in North America, Middle East and England. After 27 years in the City working as Managing Director of Sales, with US and Canadian Financial Houses covering Scandinavia, Italy, Netherlands and United Kingdom, she has now decided to dedicate her energies, full time, pursuing her love of Chinese Brush Painting and Calligraphy. Anush has been traveling to China regularly for the last 7 years discovering this vast Country and studying with her Master in Beijing. She has been fortunate to study under some superb Chinese masters both in China and London and has recently started studying Mandarin to better understand Calligraphy and appreciate the Chinese Culture. One of her passions in inspiring her work is traveling and photographing landscapes, flowers, animals, and nature in general. Anush is very keen to raise funds to help needy children and young people whenever possible.

    Landscapes of the province of Cuneo in the works of Russian and Italian artists from the 14th of June until the 4th of July   
From the 14th of June until the 4th of July, the Titian Hall of the Art Academy Museum is hosting the exhibition “Landscapes of the province of Cuneo in the works of Russian and Italian artists”. This exhibition is the outcome of the Open Air practice in Pastel in the Italian province of Cuneo in autumn, 2011.

The exhibition demonstrates a variety of artistic styles and movements within contemporary art. Each artist (they include S. L. Davidenkova, Stas Borodin, N, Vatenina, M. Gadalova and others) has his or her personal painting style and palette. Each of them has found a unique “art language” thanks to which they can express emotions and the artistic perception of life. Yet, the main idea behind their differing perspectives is the beauty and harmony of nature. Therefore, the aim of their works is to convey these ideas to the viewers.

On the 5th of June, 2013 the Blue Hall of the Russian Art Academy Museum will host the grand opening of the exhibition dedicated to the oeuvre of the Chinese artist Lin Yue. The highlights of the exhibition are works depicting the Tibetan Mastiff. The exhibition coincides with the visit to Russia of a Chinese delegation of intellectuals from the People’s Republic of China. In the context of this visit there will be a number of meetings and cultural events featuring Chinese and Russian representations from art and culture.

From the 15th of May until the 10th of June, 2013 the Russian Academy of Fine Arts Museum hosts the exhibition “Assa: the last generation of Leningrad’s avant-garde art”. The project is dedicated to the last wave of non-official artists of Leningrad in the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s. The exhibition features works of the art group “New Artists” (1982-1990s). The founder of the “New Artists” was one of the internationally acknowledged leaders in Leningrad's underground art - Timur Novikov.

Grzegorz Król is a "self made man". His main tutor is the nature itself. Born in Szczebrzeszyn in 1957, he has always been fascinated by the nature of its surroundings, by the woods of the Roztocze and by the nearby meadows and fields. The artist introduces a new style of panting, comprising an individual technique, deep emotions and symbolism. Some people say that his art is full of genius. For others, usually contemporary modernists, Król's painting is a traditional one. However, everyone who stops in front of his paintings wants to have them at home in the most prominent place.
    Exhibition “In expectation of Spring”, a part of the 13 annual “Japanese spring in Saint-Petersburg” festival 12 - 14 April   
Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. However, it is more than simply putting flowers in a container. It is a disciplined art form in which the arrangement is a living thing where nature and humanity are brought together. It is steeped in the philosophy of developing a closeness with nature. The remarkably high development of floral art in Japan can be attributed to the Japanese love of nature. People in all countries appreciate natural beauty, but in Japan, the appreciation amounts almost to a religion.

On the 3rd of April the Isaak Brodsky museum will host an exhibition dedicated to the 120 years commemoration of the artist Maksim Ushakov-Poskochin. Maksim Ushakov-Poskochin (1893-1943) was a talented artist and representative of the Leningrad’s Book Illustration School. He worked together with his contemporaries Vladimir Lebedev, Dmitry Mitrokhin, Vladimir Konashevich, Konstantin Rudakov and others.
    Olga Veselova. Paintings 17th of March - 14th of April   
On the 17th of March, 2013, the museum of P.P. Chistyakov will host an exhibition featuring works by Olga Veselova. In 1985 the artist graduated from the V. I. Mukhina Higher College for Industrial Design in Leningrad, at department of furniture textile design. Later Olga Veselova worked for the Zhelyabov textile design factory where she designed and decorated display windows for tailor’s shops. The artist also worked as a painting teacher at the regional youth club.

Anna Manina was born in 1971 in a family of artists. Since her childhood she was interested in arts. Already when she was a child, working in her parent’s studio, later the Hermitage art-studio and the Palace of Youth Creativity, Anna Manina learned to put her ideas into drawings, paintings and pottery.

    “Rock-Butterflies” and the “Effect of Fish” at the Museum “Penates” from the 12th of January until the 13th of February   
From the 12th of January, 2013 until the 13th of February, 2013 the Ilya Repin Museum - “Penates” hosts the exhibitions: “Rock-Butterflies” and the “Effect of Fish”. This exhibition features works by famous Russian artist, Igor Frolov, who uses glass as a medium and works by American designer Chuck Davidson. Chuck Davidson is a world-known American artist-designer. For more than 40 years he has been working with renowned watch companies such as Citizen, Corum, Concord, Movado, Piaget. His watch design work is represented in the permanent collections of the Washington Smithsonian Museum and the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York. At the Museum “Penates” however one will find not watches, but unusual art works, which the artist himself positions as ”Archeoart” installations.

The Museum of the Russian Art Academy hosts the exhibition “T-34” featuring works by Petr Tutrin. The artist graduated from the Painting Faculty of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin (the studio of V.V. Sokolov) in 2003. Already when he was a student Petr Tutrin acquired a reputation of talented and developing artist. His professional interests are manifold and include amongst others sport themes.

From the 1st of December, 2012 an exhibition with the works of Fedor Ionin is on display in the Pavel Chistyakov’s Memorial Museum. Fedor Ionin was born in 1985 in Leningrad. In 2008 the artist graduated from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin. The diploma work by Fedor Ionin was accomplished in the studio of professor A. A. Pakhomov, supervisor in the art of book graphics.

    Galina Rozhdestvenskaya. Crossings of colours. An exhibition marking the 90 years anniversary of the artist from the 12th of January until the 13th of February   
Galina Rozhdestvenskaya was born in the regional center of Petushki (a well-known place because of the prose poem “Moskva - Petushki” by Venedict Erofeev) in a family of rural teachers. The artist’s grandfather was a rural church dean and her uncle, priest Alexander Rojdestvensky, was the founder of the first Temperance Society in Saint-Petersburg. He also contributed to the construction of the ChristResurrectionChurch located at the Obvodny channel in Saint-Petersburg. In 1949 Galina Rozhdestvenskaya graduated from the Institute of Architecture in Moscow. She gained architectural experience and skills in the studio of the famous SovietarchitectI. V. Zholtovsky. Among her projects of that time the MarineCollege in Klaipėda and the office building in Barnaul are to be mentioned.

On the 20th of December, 2012, the Blue Hall of the Art Academy Museum will host the grand opening of an exhibition featuring the work of Konstantin Rudakov. Rudakov’s work is closely connected with Leningrad itself and Leningrad’s graphic school. The artist’s name ranks among those of famous soviet artists such as V. A. Favorsky, V.V. Lebedev, V.M. Konashevich, N.A. Tyrsa, P.V. Miturich and others. Konstantin Rudakov’s artistic personality was developed under the studios of D.N. Kardovsky, M.V. Dobuzhinsky, E.E. Lansere, and B.M. Kustodiev. His Art Academy education and personal relationship with Pavel Chistyakov, a talented supervisor in the arts, had a profound impact on forming Rudakov’s style as well.
    Soviet Neorealism: 1953-1968 15th of November - 10th of December   
The exhibition “Soviet Neorealism. 1953 – 1968” is a part of the extensive project dedicated to the modern Academic School. The political background of the years 1953 and 1968 - the death of Stalin and the Prague Spring - are chosen as the time boundaries for this exhibition. Looking back from today, the most important historical event is undoubtedly the fall of the Iron Curtain. But it is well known that the Iron Curtain did not fall in one single day, and the first signs of change can be detected already in this time span.

The Pavel Chistyakov Memorial Museum remains home to a number of exhibitions dedicated to the work of Russian teacher-artists, including an exposition of the work of Alexander Kert. The artist was born in 1974, and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts’ College and latter the Graphic Faculty at the Academy of Fine Arts (the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture).
    Paintings by Oleg Eremeev's studio 5th-28th of October   
Oleg Eremeev graduated from the studio of the famous Soviet-era artist Boris Ioganson, who appreciated painting, especially work that made use of vivid colours. The graduate work of Oleg Eremeev showed his artistic advantage. Oleg Eremeev suitably overcame all the difficulties that come with academic career, but never forgot what it meant to be a teacher. For Oleg Eremeev, to be a teacher is to fulfill his life’s purpose. At the same time, the artist has been developing himself. He took participation in a number of exhibitions in Russia and abroad, and wrote a few articles and books. Oleg Eremeev has never lost his connection with the younger generations of Russian artists.

The Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts’ Raphael Hall is hosting an exhibition featuring the work of Victor Reichet, who received the title of People's Artist of Russia. The artist belongs to a generation of masters whose lives and work were profoundly impacted by World War II. As a student of the Technical Aviation Institute, Victor Reichet went to front. Later, after celebrating the Allies’ victory in newly-liberated Vienna and being honorably discharged from active duty, he made his choice to become an artist.
    Architectural Graphics by Harald Julius von Bosse (1812-1894). The bicentenary of a prominent architect 28 October - 02 December   
The 17th of September, 2012 marks the bicentenary of a prominent architect from the second half of 19th century - Harald Julius von Bosse. The artist contributed to the development of the concept of Rational Architecture and was one of the masters of the Eclecticism style in architecture. The oeuvre of Harald Julius von Bosse is closely connected to the city of Saint-Petersburg. If one looks closely, one may find the new architectural forms in public buildings and mansions located throughout Petersburg and its suburbs.
    “Mirroring the Musée” The installation by Adad Hannah (Canada) within the bounds of the festival “Contemporary Art in Traditional Museum” in the I. I. Brodsky memorial museum 22 September – 14 October   
Mirroring the Musée was first commissioned by the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec in 2008. For Isaac Brodsky apartment museum Canadian artist Adad Hannah creates a new version of the project filming museum staff in the interior of the memorial apartment. The work is exhibited in the same room where it was produced. In this work the viewer is like a ghost caught between two mirrors, and there is also the issue of the posing spectators, visible in the videos and yet no longer in the gallery.

Museum “Apartment of Arkhip Kuindji” takes participation in the festival “Contemporary art in Traditional Museum” for the second time. The museum recreates the atmosphere which many years surrounded a legendary master of the landscape. Arkhip Ivanovich Kuindji spent his last 13 years of life in this house.

The halls of the Russian Academy of Fine Arts Museum will host a traditional annual exhibition of the thesis work of students graduating from the I. Y. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. The grand opening took place on July 13, 2012. These final exhibitions definitely generate active interest among the visitors to the museum. This is not an accident, since what is interesting to our young painters, sculptors and sketch artists, what draws their attention and what is left beyond their artistic interests and ambitions can in great deal define the current state and future development of our pictorial art.
     “Classics and Avant-garde” Paintings of Dmitry Morkvashencev from the 4th until the 15th of July   
From the 4th until the 15th of July, in the halls of the Isaak Brodsky Museum, an exhibition will take place: “Classics and Avant-garde”. The highlights of the exhibition are the works of Dmitry Morkvashencev. The series of paintings called “Classics” show us the “creative copies” of the old masters’ compositions, which were recreated according to the artist’s personal perception and amplified with new symbols and images. For example, in the composition “Venus and the Lute Player”, one can find the dialogue between Titian himself and the goddess of love – Venus. The series of paintings called “Avant-garde” conveys the idea of a modern Babylon, where the society of the 21st century tempts us with its material goods and at the same time costs us our spiritual nature.

The exhibition "Nicholas Roerich in philocartia and publications of the 19-20th centuries" is open from the 22, June until the 1, September in the halls of the Kuindji Museum. The highlights of the exhibition are collections from the Roerich Research Fund in Saint-Petersburg.Philocartia (collecting postcards) became a passion for the research fellows of the Roerich Research Fund in the 1990-s. Since that time the postcards collection have grown and became a great addition to each of the exhibitions devoted to Roerich's oeuvre ("Roerichs: the world of East", 2006, the "Roerich Pact", 2010 or "The epoch of Roerich", 2010).

People from all over the world are attracted to the works of the Finnish painter Anna Tuori –alumna of the Helsinki Art Academy and the Art Academy in Paris. Her works are in different museums such as the Tampere and Turku Museums, the Kiasma Museum of contemporary art and others. In 2006 and 2008 the artist was a laureate of the Ars Fennica and Carnegie Art Award prizes. In 2011 she became “The Young Artist of the Year”. The purpose of awarding the title of Young Artist of the Year is to stimulate conversation and promote the visibility of contemporary art.

During the summer and autumn, the artist had been travelling along the Norman coast of France. These places have always had a special power over the artists such as Charles-François Daubigny, Oscar-Claude Monet, Georges Braque and others.

In February the Blue Hall of the Art Academy Museum will host an exhibition: “The examples to follow and imitate”. The highlights of the exposition are life class drawings from the collection of the Imperial Art Academy (1757 – 1917). This unique collection of drawings has its origin in the middle of the 18th century, when the Art Academy was founded. From the very beginning, it was established as a set of academic examples for the students to follow. Since 1765, the Art Academy Council has been preserving student’s drawings which were awarded with gold and silver medals. This tradition lasted until 1917.

On the 15th of February, 2012, the Raphael Hall of the Art Academy Museum will host the grand opening of a retrospective exhibition featuring the work of Igor Petrov. Igor Petrov is a great master of landscape paintings and a virtuosic open-air artist. He is a member of the Artist’s Union, as well as a professor of the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. In the artist’s work, landscapes predominate as a symbol of his own microcosms: an expression of his own view on life, philosophy, aesthetics, and, of course, as a reflection of the beauty around him.

On the 8th of February, 2012, The Art Academy Museum will host the grand opening of an exhibition featuring the work of Alexander Tyutrin. The exhibition, which will take place in Titian Hall, will feature more than 60 pieces, including portraits, landscapes, still lifes, genre paintings, and vast canvases. Alexander Tyutrin was born in Leningrad. He graduated from the college of the Soviet Art Academy and proceeded to graduate with a degree in painting from the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (the studio of Professor Yury Neprincev). Later, Tyutrin taught drawing at the Ilya Repin Institute. In 1978, Tyutrin became a member of the Artist’sUnion.
    The exhibition “Oeuvre of Vladimir Yantarev” in the Museum of Isaak Brodsky 07th-18th of December   
On the 7th of December at 4 p.m. the Grand opening of the exhibition “Oeuvre of Vladimir Yantarev” will take place in the Museum of Isaak Brodsky. Vladimir Nikolayevich Yantarev was born in 1940 in Leningrad. The artist graduated from the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. From 1966 Vladimir Yantarev participated in different exhibitions organized in Russia and abroad. In 1975 he became a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. During the years of his membership he created a lot of monumental works: mosaics, ceramic panels and stained glass windows.
    The exhibition “Taras and Vasilij – models of the artist Carl Brullov” 22nd of December - 12th of February   
From 22nd of December the exhibition “Taras and Vasilij – models of the artist Carl Brullov” will be on display in the Blue Hall of the Art Academy Museum. The highlights of this exhibition are 30 studies made by the students of the Imperial Art Academy during the second half of the XIX century. Most of the works were awarded with silver medals. The sketches also show how famous Russian artists-teachers, for example the brothers Makovsky, Shustov, Korzuhin, Savitsky and others created the composition sketches with the models. For the Art Academy students drawing and painting models played an important role. As for the models, for some of them posing became a profession. During the times of the “Great Carl” (Carl Brullov) there were two models working in the Art Academy – Taras and Vasili. They were Carl Brullov's favorite models. Thanks to the research of the Art Academy's Museum lots of the original titles of these sketches were found and the names of the models (Zakhar, Taras, Vasilij and others) could be specified.

On the 23rd of November in the halls of Isaak Brodsky Museum there will be a grand opening of the exhibition of the artist Larisa Boeva. Larisa Boeva is a member of the Peter's Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Association of the Artists of Pavlovsk. Larisa Boeva is also the teacher of the highest qualification. The artist graduated the graphic design faculty at the University in the name of Herzen, took participation in the exhibitions in Russia and abroad. More then 20 years Larisa Boeva worked in the schools of Pushkin. The artist works in different genres: still life, landscape, and portrait. Her works are in collections of different Russian and foreign museums.

    Peter Kotov (1889-1953). Paintings, graphic works 10th - 27th of November    
On November 10, 2011, the halls of the Art Academy Museum will host the Grand Opening of an exhibition devoted to the works of Peter Kotov. Kotov was a Full Member of the Soviet Academy of Arts, an Honored Art Worker of the RSFSR, and the winner of the USSR State Prize. The exhibition features paintings created by the artist in 1913-1953 from the collections of the State Russian Museum, The S. M. Kirov Medical Military Academy, the Museum of Military Artillery and Engineering, the Museum of the Russian Art Academy and from the personal collection owned by the artist’s family. The highlights of the exhibition are sketches that were taken from the restricted access list of the military archives when they were declassified. These sketches are being shown in public for the first time, making the upcoming event an exhibition of historical artifacts.
    Children’s days in Saint-Petersburg 28 of October -13 of November   
The festival “Children’s days in Saint-Petersburg” is the event yearly organized by a number of city museums, the Cultural Committee of Saint-Petersburg and the Centre of Museum Development. The program of the project called “12345 – I will go and find” offers young visitors different exhibitions, performances, “know-how” classes and a game-lections. This year the Art Academy Museum in collaboration with the Museum of S. M. Kirov and the Museum of Urban Sculpture will present a route “Imagine…” for 9-12 years old children. Three museums suggest children to play, to imagine themselves Gulliver in the land of Architecture or to imagine themselves a soviet pioneer or a detective, etc. Little visitors will learn how to build a Gulliver’s house or how to recognize the original stone from its fake, will chose the most interesting names and will help to prevent an international scandal.

The exhibition of works of Vladislav Razgulin is opened in the halls of Isaak Brodsky home-museum. The artist was born in Zavolzje, Gorky region. He graduated the department of architecture in the Gorky Institute of Engineering and the Saint-Petersburg Academy of Design and Industry in the name of Shtiglits. The diploma work of Vladislav Razgulin is the metal decoration for the Chapel of Saint Apostle and Evangelist Luke. Later the artist took participation in designing the Church of Christ the Savior in Moscow (white stone works and the mosaics on the floor). Nowadays Vladislav Razgulin is an active member of the exhibitions yearly organized by the Saint-Petersburg Union of Artists. He also is a member of the Russian Union of Artists.
    Gianni Maimeri “Feeling of the color” October 3rd – November 6th   
On the 3rd of October in the halls of the Russian Art Academy Museum (Saint-Petersburg) there will be a Grand Opening of the personal exhibition devoted to the works of the Italian artist Gianni Maimeri (1884 - 1951). This cultural event is connected with ‘The Year of Italian culture and Italian language in Russia’ promoted under patronage of the President of Italian Republic. The highlights of the exhibition “Feeling of the color” are paintings, remarkable collection of drawings “Musicians” and installations. Gianni Maimeri was born in Varano close to the lake Lago di Comabbio in Lombardy, Italy. After a short stay in Venice in 1906 the artist returned to Milan where his teachers of painting were Leonardo Baccaro and later Emilio Gola. In 1918 Gianni Maimeri had his first personal exhibition in the Gerry’s Gallery in Milan which was highly appreciated by the art critics and collectors.

From September 17th until October 16th in Saint-Petersburg, a festival will take place: “Contemporary Art in a Traditional Museum”. It is being organized by the fund “PRO ARTE”. One of the projects at this festival is the exhibition of Olga Florenskaya and Aleksandr Florensky: “City N”. The “City N” project consists of a few architectural objects. The objects mirror different public constructions typically found in the average European city: a Town Hall, Palace, Theatre, Post Office, Prison, etc.

In 2006 she graduated from the Art faculty of Hertsen University, and in 2003 she recieved a diploma from the Institute of Decorative Arts. Tatiana Parfenova is a member of the Russian Union of Artists. The grand opening of the exhibition will occur on the 15th of September at 4 p.m. in the halls of the Isaak Brodsky Museum.

On the 10th of September in the halls of Pavel Chistyakov’s home-museum there will be an opening of the exhibition of works by Marina Bukhanova. Marina Bukhanova is an artist and a teacher of painting. That is why the atmosphere of the house of the famous Russian painting teacher Pavel Chistyakov seems very close to Marina. The artist graduated the Higher College of Applied Arts in the name of Vera Mukhina in the 1986. The highlights of the exhibition are paintings (watercolor, oil) and tapestries. The main theme is flowers.

On the 15th of July at 3 p.m. in the Gala Hall of the Russian Art Academy Museum there will be an opening of the annual traditional exhibition of works by graduating students of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and architecture to the name of Ilya Repin – “The heirs of the great art”.
    The exhibition of works of Yury Repin July 21-October 30   
The exhibition of works of Yury Repin, the son of the great artist Ilya Repin is on display in the summer-studio of the home museum of Ilya Repin “Penates”. The highlights of the exhibition are the early works of Yury Repin, such as the “Self portrait with a pipe” and the landscapes made in 1890's, and later works made in 1930's. After 1939 there was no possibility for Yury Repin to continue working in the studio that was located in the house close to Penates, his father’s manor. Because the political situation at the Russian-Finnish border worried the Finnish government it started evacuating people from the Karelian Isthmus in 1939. According to eyewitness accounts Yury Repin and Vera Repina, children of Ilya Repin, were the lasts to leave their manor Kuokkala (present time - Penates). Ilya Repin left the manor by his last will to the Art Academy. Later the scientists of the Art Academy found lots of letters, photographs, sketches and paintings in the walls of Penates.

On the 13th of May the exhibition “Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso. Graphics, Sculpture, Ceramics”, with works from the collection of Alexander Shadrin (Yekaterinburg) was opened in the Raphael’s hall of the Art Academy Museum. The exhibition consisted of 119 works by Dali and 16 by Picasso.

On the 21st July 2011 there was an opening of the Photo Exhibition on Ilya Repin and his family in the home-museum of Repin, “Penates”. It seems to be clear that in the archives of the Art Academy and the manor “Penates” there are lots of documents connected to the name of the artist Repin. But among all these data there is also a big amount of information about his relatives, his family. We have paid our attention to these exactly archived documents while organizing the exhibition. The main exhibits are photographs that have never been published.
    ‘To you as a gift of love towards Fatherland’ Exhibition devoted to the 200 years anniversary of the Kazan Cathedral in Saint-Petersburg September 23 - December 11    
In 2011, the Kazan cathedral in St Petersburg will have its 200 anniversary, counting from the day of its consecration. The Kazan cathedral is the main cathedral of the Petersburg eparchy of the Russian orthodox church. It was named after the icon “Our Lady of Kazan”. The exhibition displays the history of the construction of the Kazan cathedral and its significance for life in St Petersburg and for Russian art.

Natella Toidze – is an artist who works in a very personal style. She was born in Moscow into a family of well-known artists. In 1972 she graduated from the Moscow academic art school “To the memory of 1905”, the department of theater decoration. Soon she started to take part in Russian exhibitions. In the landscapes of Georgia, the master showed us a deep sense of nature, the “soul of nature”. The latest works of Natella Toidze are full of intensive “decorativizm” – one of the main tendencies in Russian art of the beginning of 20th century. Putting the bright and symbolical images in the scale of colours, the artist refers to a mysterious process in nature.

The opening of the annual traditional exhibit of graduation works of students from the Institute of Art, Sculpture and Architecture of I.Y. Repin, will take place at the Staterooms of the Scientific-research museum of the Russian Academy of Arts on July 3, 2009 at 15:00. These final exhibitions definitely strike live interest among the visitors of the museum, and this is not an accident, since what is interesting to our young artists, sculptors and sketchers, what draws their attention and what is left beyond their artistic interests and ambitions can in great deal define the current state and future development of our pictorial art.

    Petersburg festival of Repin anniversary exhibitions    
2009 marks the 110th anniversary of “Penaty” and 165 years since the birth of I.Y. Repin. In connection with celebrating the anniversary date, the Scientific-Research Museum of Art and Museum-Estate of I.Y. Repin “Penaty”, are conducting a “Repin anniversary festival” with the participation and support of various federal and social organizations.

June 5, 2009 at 16:00, the exhibition of an Italian painter Ettore De Conciliiswill open it’s doors. The exhibit will display over 50 works, spanning the entire creative path of the painter; from the first murals of the sixties to the sudden change of genre in the direction of intimate, which occurred in the second half of the seventies and lead the painter to creating scenery and still-life.

    Exhibition of Vladimir Ershov’s artwork 13-24 of May   
Vladimir Ershov was born in Leningrad in 1964. He began learning art at the art middle school at the Academy of Art and from 1987 in the work shop of Boris Ugarov and Victor Reyhet at the Academy of Art. In 1993 Vladimir Ershov became the member of the Artist’s Union. Exhibitions of his personal work took place in our country as well as abroad and some of this artist’s work is kept in museums while some of it is in private collections.

Hamid Savkuev is a painter who can by right be called the representative of several traditions. He is a graduate of a famous Saint Petersburg State College of Art, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.Y.Repin (Department of monumental painting, workshop of professor A.A. Mylnikov) and he continues the traditions of the Russian school through his creative work. At the same time his creations are filled with folk art of his homeland, Kabardino-Balkarya.

This is the name of the exhibition prepared by the Scientific-Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts jointly with the Consulate General of Italy in Saint Petersburg. In its Ceremonial halls in autumn 2008 there will take place an exhibition of the museums’ funds within the framework of 250th anniversary of Russia’s oldest museum of arts.
    The Week of the Russian Avant Garde in Saint Petersburg 30 september - 26 october   
The German cultural center after Goethe represents a series of exhibitions in October, 2008 in the Ceremonial halls of the Scientific-Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts within the framework of the program “The weeks of the Russian Avant Garge in Saint Petersburg”. The exhibitions are devoted to the reflection of this movement in the German architecture, particularly to the exhibition of the residential quarters of Berlin Art Nouveau and expositions devoted to the creative life of the architects Bruno Taut and Erich Mendelson. The “Week” is a part of a vast program “Petersburg Dialogue 2008” which will take place this year in autumn in Saint Petersburg the fourth time.
    International Exhibition of Calligraphy 16-21 of September   
The first in Russia “International Exhibition of Calligraphy” is a cultural and educational project which is purposed not only to revive historical traditions of writing, but also to show educational and cultural importance of the project for spiritual development of a person, create an environment for further development and practical application of calligraphy as an art in the whole world. An essential part of the exhibition will be the museum exposition of the most interesting and unexplored patterns of the Slavic writing, historic manuscripts of the world’s nations, there will be presented a numerous collection of rare books, writing utensils of different periods, items of the applied calligraphy and specialized literature. International status of the project is supported by participation of the best calligraphy schools of Russia, USA, Germany, Israel, Palestine, Mongolia, Italy, Syria, Ukraine, France, Belorussia, Australia, India, Turkey, Norway, Taiwan, China, Jordan, Peru and other countries.
