The artist was born in Moldavia; however, she works and lives in Saint-Petersburg. Her works, thus, demonstrate rich palette together with a moderation in forms. The paintings by the artist possess that warm feeling of the Southern sun that rainy St. Petersburg misses. For example, the work “White Still-life” could remind us a matte wall mural and a play of the sun light in a mosaic at once. This unique approach of using colors and the light is what art critics usually point out when writing about Luminitsa Taburtsa’s oeuvre.
The exhibition is open until the 20th of September, 2015, in the Blue Hall of the Art Academy Research Museum.
