Since the 11 of November, 2015 the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky has been hosting an exhibition featuring works by Sergey Griva. The artist graduated from the College named after V. A. Serov in 1984 and later, in 1990 - the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. Repin. Sergey Griva is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia (1992) and a representative of their Department of Art Restoration (2008). Sergey Griva started his career as an art restorer at the Art Academy museum almost thirty years ago. Since 2013 Sergey Griva is a professor at the Department of Restoration at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. Repin. He is an active member of different exhibitions in Russia and abroad:
2002, 2003, 2013 – solo exhibitions at the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky in Saint-Petersburg
2007 – an exhibition dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Fine Arts
2007 – an exhibition in Germany
2009 – solo jubilee exhibition at the memorial museum of Isaak Brodsky in Saint-Petersburg.
Still life is one of the artist’s favorite genres. One can say that the artist thoroughly studied old masters works and techniques; while depicting different items, Sergey Griva tries to catch its eternally changing beauty and mood: from a simple bouquet to a sophisticated composition.
