On the 13th of May the exhibition “Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso. Graphics, Sculpture, Ceramics”, with works from the collection of Alexander Shadrin (Yekaterinburg) was opened in the Raphael’s hall of the Art Academy Museum. The exhibition consisted of 119 works by Dali and 16 by Picasso.
Alexandr Shadrin, a Russian collector and business owner started his organization activities in 1994 when he made a few exhibitions of works by Mikhail Shemyakin, Erns Unknown, Ilya Kabakov and Anatoly Zverev and other artists of the non-conformist movement in different cities of Russia. The project “Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso” took him about 8 years to prepare.
It is the first time that Russian visitors can see the full collection of sculptures, bronze shapes and a few miniatures from the collection of the Dali's lawyer of Bendjamin Levi, the owner of Paris and London museums devoted to Dali. Next to this prints from the collection of Pier and Cristopher Arjile (the series “Devoted to Dürer”, “Bestiary of Jean de La Fontaine”, “Venus in Furs”, "The Divine Comedy", “50 Years of Surrealism” “Human Sins” etc.) are on display. Visitors will also find linocuts like “Bacchanal”, and “Corrida” and ceramics made by Picasso at the exhibition.

The exhibition is open every day, till the 10th of July, 2011 from 12 to 8 pm
