Oleg Eremeev graduated from the studio of the famous Soviet-era artist Boris Ioganson, who appreciated painting, especially work that made use of vivid colours. The graduate work of Oleg Eremeev showed his artistic advantage. Oleg Eremeev suitably overcame all the difficulties that come with academic career, but never forgot what it meant to be a teacher. For Oleg Eremeev, to be a teacher is to fulfill his life’s purpose. At the same time, the artist has been developing himself. He took participation in a number of exhibitions in Russia and abroad, and wrote a few articles and books. Oleg Eremeev has never lost his connection with the younger generations of Russian artists. Fifteen years ago, the artist obtained his own personal painting studio at the Painting Department of the Repin Academy of Fine Arts. He picked up the baton from Yury Neprincev, who was the head of the painting studio before. This studio is attended by the students of different artistic abilities, talents and levels of commitment. The teacher Oleg Eremeev pays equal attention to all of his students. He conveys his passion for life and interest in the surrounding world to his students and involves them in the cycle of events and situations which provide the very material for the artists. This exhibition, which marks the 90th anniversary of the artist’s birth, displays not only the work of the artist himself but also works by his students, as the influence of the teacher is reflected in his students.
The exhibition is open until 28 October 2012.
