An exposition of the work of Alexander Kert

The Pavel Chistyakov Memorial Museum remains home to a number of exhibitions dedicated to the work of Russian teacher-artists, including an exposition of the work of Alexander Kert. The artist was born in 1974, and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts’ College and latter the Graphic Faculty at the Academy of Fine Arts (the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture). Since 2001, the artist had been teaching at the B. M. Kustodiev St. Petersburg Children’s Art School. Most of his students were laureates of different artistic competitions, and latter became students at institutes of higher education in the arts and architecture. In 2009 Alexander Kert received the “Pedagogic Hopes” award from the government of St. Petersburg. In 2004 the artist participated in restoration of the murals in the Optina Monastery in St. Petersburg. Alexander Kert is a talented and gentle artist with a remarkable sense of nature. The works of the artist on display mostly are poetic landscapes.
The exhibition is open from the 7th of October, 2012 until the 18th of November, 2012.
