Petr Tutrin “T-34”

The Museum of the Russian Art Academy hosts the exhibition “T-34” featuring works by Petr Tutrin. The artist graduated from the Painting Faculty of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin (the studio of V.V. Sokolov) in 2003. Already when he was a student Petr Tutrin acquired a reputation of talented and developing artist. His professional interests are manifold and include amongst others sport themes. The most remarkable work in his development of the sport theme is the art piece “Final”. The painting, unexpectedly dynamic and vibrant, draws the viewer into the depicted situation. This immersive effect is created by the active, colorful way of painting and the depiction of the fire like clothes against the snow white background with a sharp, precise composition. The artist’s personal method and creative features are also to be found in the last painting of this series “Finish”, which is devoted to biathlonists. In the works displayed at the exhibition one can find not only the excitement of sport competitions but also feel the inner creative potential of the artist.
