On the 17th of March, 2013, the museum of P.P. Chistyakov will host an exhibition featuring works by Olga Veselova. In 1985 the artist graduated from the V. I. Mukhina Higher College for Industrial Design in Leningrad, at department of furniture textile design. Later Olga Veselova worked for the Zhelyabov textile design factory where she designed and decorated display windows for tailor’s shops. The artist also worked as a painting teacher at the regional youth club. Since 1997 she has been working for the B. M. Kustodiev Art school for children. Olga Veselova combines her teaching career with her own artistic activity- painting with watercolor and pastel and designing compositions on textile (batik). In 1998 the Higher College for Industrial Design hosted the “Family exhibition”, a show devoted to the oeuvre of Olga Veselova, her husband, sculptor Leo Beybutyan, and their two sons. In 2001 Olga Veselova became a member of the artists group “The Stone Island”. She is not only taking part in the exhibitions organized by the group but also arranges exhibitions of her students (“Petersburg in Winter Time” and “The Teacher and the Student”). Olga Veselova participated in different exhibitions organized by the Union of Artists and exhibitions of paintings and decorative arts featuring works by artists of different nationalities in the Armenian cultural center.
The exhibition is open until the 14th of April, 2013.
