| From the 14th of June until the 4th of July, the Titian Hall of the Art Academy Museum is hosting the exhibition “Landscapes of the province of Cuneo in the works of Russian and Italian artists”. This exhibition is the outcome of the Open Air practice in Pastel in the Italian province of Cuneo in autumn, 2011.
2011 was a year dedicated to the Russian- Italian cultural exchanges and co-projects. The Open Air pastel practice featured artists from both countries and was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The project involved 12 artists. Three of the artists were Italian and nine were Russian; they were from different cities throughout Russia (Saint-Petersburg, Omsk, Moscow, Magadan, Petrozavodsk etc.) The exhibition was organized with the support of the Italian Consulate in Saint Petersburg. It has already been held with great success in Yaroslavl and Moscow. After being exhibited in Saint Petersburg, the exhibition will visit other Russian cities such as Uglich and Petrozavodsk. The head of the Open Air project and the exhibitions is P. S. Chakhotin.
In close connection to these announcements, there is another exhibition that has opened in the Blue Hall of the Art Academy Museum. The title of the exhibition is “Russia and Italy”. The highlights of the exposition are works by Petr Chakhotin and Nadezhda Lavrova. The exhibition commemorates their 70th and 55th birthdays, correspondingly.
The exhibition is open until the 4th of July, 2013.
