From the 20th of September, 2013 the Blue Hall of the Art Academy museum has been hosting an exhibition dedicated to the international Day of Music. This exhibition features works by D.I. Volkova and B. V. Lushnikova, both masters of theater sets.
Boris Lushnikov graduated from the studio of M. M. Kurilko-Rumin at the Moscow Institute named after V. I. Surikov. Apart from painting he has devoted his life to teaching arts.
The exhibition displays his sketches of theatrical sets created in the 1957 for the Christoph Willibald von Gluck’s opera “Alceste
Dina Volkova graduated from the studio of A. I. Segala at the Saint-Petersburg Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. Y. Repin. At the exhibition one can find costumes and sets sketches made by the artist in the 1964 for the opera “Peer Gynt” by Edvard Hagerup Grieg.
All the works are from the collection of the Academy of Fine Arts Museum.
The exhibition is open until the 11th of October, 2013
