Julia Gothgelph is a member of the Workers of Culture Union, a specialist in applied arts and a painter. She was born in Leningrad in 1958. In 1982 Julia graduated from the Leningrad’s Art College named after V. Serov (currently named after N. Roerich). In 2010 the artist graduated from the University in Veliky Novgorod. Since 1982 the artist has been teaching painting, drawing and decorative arts at the Saint-Petersburg Art School in the name of B.Kustodiev. Julia’s mainly works in mixed techniques: watercolor, tempera, acrylic paint. As for the style, her works are rather emotional and impressionistic than realistic. She does not seem to paint from nature; it is more likely the artist just materializes her conceptions on visible nature. She pays extreme attention to light effects, “musical” rhythms of brush strokes, bright palette. Displayed art pieces by Julia Gothgelph are works of bright and decorative colors from outside and of deep emotions from inside.
The exhibition will be open from the 19th of October, 2014 until the 9th of November, 2014.
