Exhibition of art works by Hamid Savkuev \"Tree of Life\".
Hamid Savkuev is a painter who can by right be called the representative of several traditions. He is a graduate of a famous Saint Petersburg State College of Art, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.Y.Repin (Department of monumental painting, workshop of professor A.A. Mylnikov) and he continues the traditions of the Russian school through his creative work. At the same time his creations are filled with folk art of his homeland, Kabardino-Balkarya. The majestic nature of Kavkaz, life and traditions of this mountain country transform into epic legends in the paintings of Hamid. Laconic and vivid language of the simple and metaphoric images makes these legends understandable to people of different ethnicity and religion. It isn’t by chance that the monumental paintings of Savkuev beautify secular buildings as well as Christian temples. His works are preserved in museum collections of Spain and China and adorn the private collections in Russia, Holland, France, Germany and USA.
The talented painter who is also an excellent teacher and a modest person presents us with his visions of the world. These visions are berthed in epos which take its roots in the depth of centuries and are continues to evolve in front of our eyes. The painter helps us see the world without trifle or fuss full of meaning, magnificent and which contains Good and Evil, Love and Hate, Life and Death.
We hope that the creative work of Hamid Savkuev becomes widely known not only among specialists but also among all lovers of real modern art which contains traditions and development.
