The exhibition of works by Natella Toidze

Natella Toidze – is an artist who works in a very personal style. She was born in Moscow into a family of well-known artists. In 1972 she graduated from the Moscow academic art school “To the memory of 1905”, the department of theater decoration. Soon she started to take part in Russian exhibitions.   In the landscapes of Georgia, the master showed us a deep sense of nature, the “soul of nature”. The latest works of Natella Toidze are full of intensive “decorativizm” – one of the main tendencies in Russian art of the beginning of 20th century. Putting the bright and symbolical images in the scale of colours, the artist refers to a mysterious process in nature. In most of her works some of the real environment fragments were transformed into difficult decorative motives. (“After rain” “spinney” or “the beginning of the summer”).

Natella Toidze is an artist with a great talent. She is interested not even in the themes itself but in its interpretations into colour. The world is so different and in this variety Natella found the aesthetic idea of beauty. She has the same passion to the views of Russian north or to Georgia nature, towards Moscow backyards or to views of the countryside. Everything she does is traced with her personal feelings about past generations, memory and modern life intuition. In the artworks of Natella Toidze we can find lyricism and strong spontaneous sense of colour at the same time.

In 2004 Natella Toidze was awarded with a gold medal of RussianArtAcademy. Her works are in Russian museums, private Russian and foreign collections.
