Sculptural casts


Collection of the cast department is unique in its completeness, selection methods and excellent quality of performance. They were made by Italian masters in the end of 18th –beginning of 19th centuries and are molded using the casts which were made from the original works. These replicas very precisely reproduce all plastic peculiarities of the original works.


History of the Russian School of Art


Exposition “History of the Russian School of Art” which is the main collection of the Scientific-Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts is placed in 15 halls of the internal round block of the Academy building. First eight halls of the exposition are devoted to the history of the Russian academic school of the period from the second half of the 18th century till the beginning of the 20th century. The other 7 halls represent the works of the period from the beginning of the 20th century up to the present time Currently the exposition is closed.


Petersburg in patterns and drawings


A unique collection of architecture patterns which was laid in the beginning of the 18th century during the first years of the Academy and its Museum is a pearl of its magnificent architecture collection in spite of relatively small amount of items.
In addition to architecture patterns the exposition also includes drawings, paintings and prints which reveal the history of creation and existence of the exhibited monuments.


The museum will be closed on the 20th of May.
