Museum “Estate of I.Ye.Repin “Penates” is located 45 km from Saint Petersburg on the coast of the Finnish Bay.
Here I.Ye. Repin (1844 – 1930) lived the last30 years of his life and he wished to be buried here. The estate became one of the country’s first memorial museums patronized by the Russian Academy of Arts.
In the revived after the war “Penates” a visitor can see personal items of the artists, his paintings and drawings, works of his son, Yury, as well as works of other Russian painters. There are about six hundred paintings and graphic works totally in “Penates”.
The memorial image of the rooms which reminds us of the tastes and habits of their master (studio, dining room and veranda) is preserved in the house.
Visiting a museum includes visiting an exposition, watching old documentary films which show us I.Ye. Repin in his house, viewing the memorial park and surroundings which inspired many Russian artists and writers.
Due to the fact that many owners of “Penates” were vegetarians the Museum keeps some receipts of the dishes which were served at the famous round table.

The Museum is open all days in a week, working hours 10:30 - 17:00 (in summer), 10:30 - 16:00 (winter) – except of Monday and Tuesday.
